Verse Text: وَالسَّارِقُ وَالسَّارِقَةُ فَاقْطَعُواْ أَيْدِيَهُمَا جَزَاء بِمَا كَسَبَا نَكَالاً مِّنَ اللّهِ وَاللّهُ عَزِيزٌ حَكِيمٌ

Transliteration: Waalssariqu waalssariqatu faiqtaAAoo aydiyahuma jazaan bima kasaba nakalan mina Allahi waAllahu AAazeezun hakeemun

Translation (Tahereh Saffarzadeh): Cut off the [right] hand [four fingers] of the thief, male or female, a punishment as an exemplary Torment from Allah for that which they committed; and Allah is the Mighty Decreer. Translation (M.H. Shakir): And (as for) the man who steals and the woman who steals, cut off their hands as a punishment for what they have earned, an exemplary punishment from Allah; and Allah is Mighty, Wise.
