Revealed: Medina

Verse Text: إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَرْمُونَ الْمُحْصَنَاتِ الْغَافِلَاتِ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ لُعِنُوا فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابٌ عَظِيمٌ

Transliteration: Inna allatheena yarmoona almuhsanati alghafilati almu/minati luAAinoo fee alddunya waal-akhirati walahum AAathabun AAatheemun

Translation (Tahereh Saffarzadeh): Surely those who spread evil rumors about the chaste believing women who are unaware of the plot, they are despised and cursed in this world and for them there will be a grievous chastisement in the Hereafter as well; Translation (M.H. Shakir): Surely those who accuse chaste believing women, unaware (of the evil), are cursed in this world and the hereafter, and they shall have a grievous chastisement.
