The Accumulation of Wealth

Tradition Text:

قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الرِّضَا ع يَقُولُ لَا يَجْتَمِعُ الْمَالُ إِلَّا بِخِصَالٍ خَمْسٍ بِبُخْلٍ شَدِيدٍ وَ أَمَلٍ طَوِيلٍ وَ حِرْصٍ غَالِبٍ وَ قَطِيعَةِ الرَّحِمِ وَ إِيثَارِ الدُّنْيَا عَلَى الْآخِرَة

Translation: Imam Ali ibn Musa al-Rida [a] said: "Wealth does not (excessively) accumulate but by having five traits: extreme miserliness, high expectations, overwhelming greed, breaking off ties with one's kindred, and preferring this world to the next."
